Dips are one of my favorite food groups, so I keep this super quick and easy recipe on hand for my sudden cravings. This cold chicken and ranch dip is a great way to use up leftover chicken, and it tastes amazing with potato chips, veggies, crackers, fresh breads, and everything in between!

Chicken: Use pre-cooked chicken for this recipe. Any leftover or shredded chicken you have in the fridge will work, or use rotisserie chicken. Cream Cheese: Set the cream cheese out on the counter for about an hour or so to soften it, so it’s easy to mix with the other ingredients. Sour Cream: Adds a creamy, tangy flavor. Shredded Cheese: Cheddar cheese tastes best in this recipe, but you can use whatever you have on hand. Ranch: Use a packet of dry ranch seasoning mix to add that classic, herb-y flavor!
Variations to Try
Make it a Buffalo ranch chicken dip by mixing in a few tablespoons (to taste) of Buffalo or hot sauce. Give it a taco twist by adding your favorite salsa and pepper jack cheese. Add ¼ cup of chopped celery or green onions for some texture. Swap in low-fat cream cheese and plain Greek yogurt (instead of sour cream) to make a lighter dip.
How to Store
Store chicken ranch and sour cream dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. I do not recommend freezing this dip.

How to Make Chicken Ranch Dip Step by Step
Mix the Dip: In a large bowl, mix 8 ounces of softened cream cheese, ½ cup of room temperature sour cream, ½ cup of shredded cheddar cheese, and 1 ounce (1 packet) of ranch dressing mix. Add the Chicken: Next, add 8 ounces of cooked and shredded chicken, then mix to fully combine all ingredients. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve! Serve: Serve this ranch chicken dip cold (straight from the fridge), at room temperature (30 minutes on the counter), or warmed (in the microwave). Garnish with fresh parsley or dill if desired, and serve with crackers, chips, toasted bread, and/or fresh vegetables.
