Mayonnaise: The base of our sauce– it makes the dip rich and creamy! You can use ranch sauce or Greek yogurt instead of mayonnaise, if you prefer. Honey: Adds a bit of sweetness to the sauce. Yellow Mustard: Gives the sauce a bit of tang– plus its signature yellow color. Barbecue Sauce: Adds a bit of earthiness and smokiness to the sauce. We’re using Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce. Lemon Juice: Adds brightness and acidity to the sauce. Apple Cider Vinegar: Adds a bit of earthiness and acidity. Spices: Garlic powder and paprika add great flavor! Liquid Smoke: The key to really making this sauce taste like a true copycat. We’re using hickory-flavored liquid smoke that’s available in most grocery stores!

Variations on Homemade Chick Fil A Sauce

For vegan Chick Fil A sauce, use vegan mayo and barbecue sauce and swap the honey for maple syrup. For spicy sauce, choose a spicy barbecue sauce or add a teaspoon of Buffalo sauce. For Polynesian sauce, add 1-2 tablespoons of sweet and sour sauce.

How to Store and Reheat

Once you’ve learned how to make Chick Fil A sauce, store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours. We do not recommend freezing this sauce.
