Making your own herb mixes is so simple to do, and I always have several jars in my pantry. It’s a perfect way to lift dishes and add more flavor to them with ease! There are a lot of different herbs that go into herbs de Provence and measuring out small spoonfuls of each one for a recipe can take a ton of time. Setting aside just 5 minutes to make this herb mix saves me so much time in the long run.

How to Store

I prefer to use up my homemade herbs de Provence within 3 months for the freshest flavor. Because I’m using previously opened jarred spices to make it with, I find that it doesn’t keep quite as long as a sealed from-the-store spice blend. But that doesn’t really matter since I use it up so quickly! For maximum freshness, keep it in an airtight container.

Serving Suggestions

I use this homemade herbs de Provence seasoning all the time. In fact, it’s in some of my favorite recipes on the site, including this whole roast chicken, these melting potatoes, and my baked turkey meatballs. It’s also great added to pan seared chicken breast or mashed potatoes for an extra kick of flavor.
