Add to a Bowl: Remove from the heat and pour into a large bowl. Add the Cornbread: To the vegetables, add 9 cups of cubed cornbread, 1 large egg, 1 cup of low-sodium chicken broth, ¾ cup of whole milk, ¼ cup of brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of kosher salt, and ¼ teaspoon of ground black pepper. Gently stir until combined. Cover and Bake: Spoon the mixture into your prepared pan. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 20 minutes or until the top is golden.
