There’s a whole lot that I love about this breakfast sliders recipe. They’ll keep you full until lunchtime since they’re loaded with eggs, cheese and chicken sausage. They’re also great to have when you’re on the go and need a quick meal to eat – I’ve eaten one while dropping off the kids at school more times than I can count. The very best part? It couldn’t be easier to make a big batch of breakfast sliders! In just 30 minutes of minimal effort, they’re ready to eat.
What’s in this breakfast sliders recipe?
This breakfast slider recipe is one of my favorites because it features budget friendly ingredients like these that don’t break the bank:
Sausage: I like round breakfast sausage patties since they fit perfectly in the buns. Use any type of breakfast sausage patties that you prefer. For example, if you do not eat pork sausage, you can use turkey sausage patties. Cheese: American and pepper jack cheese are my favorites for this recipe, but feel free to use your favorite kind. Maple Syrup: Mixing this with the butter adds a touch of sweetness and classic breakfast flavor to the rolls.
Variations To Try
There are so many ways to customize these breakfast sliders for a crowd! You could even do a few different kinds all in one pan. Another similar recipe we love when we are craving chicken is these Spicy Chicken Biscuits.
Meat: Try bacon, Canadian bacon, or honey ham. Eggs: Cook over easy, medium, or hard for a different texture. Cheese: Try sharp cheddar, gouda, or provolone!
How to Store and Reheat
To store leftover breakfast sliders, wrap your baking dish in plastic wrap or aluminum foil before placing them in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in a 350°F oven covered with foil for 10-15 minutes, or until warmed through.
How to Freeze
I would suggest separating the breakfast sliders and placing them on a baking sheet. Flash-freeze them until hard and place the separated sliders in a plastic bag. Place the bag back in the freezer and store for up to 2 months. Let thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.
Notes and Tips
Because I like to use sweet Hawaiian rolls and maple syrup, I find that adding a bit of ketchup to my sliders as a finishing touch balances out the flavors. Give it a try!

I’ve made ham and cheese sliders with Hawaiian rolls before (and they are so good), but that’s more of a lunch recipe. I just had to turn that family favorite into a breakfast recipe, because I can’t get over how good they are. I added eggs, more cheese, and an amazing brown sugar Dijon butter sauce to give them a little but more sweetness. These breakfast sliders are the ultimate breakfast recipe for hungry families.
How to Store and Reheat
Store leftover breakfast sliders in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months. Let thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating in a 350°F oven covered with foil for 20-30 minutes, or until warmed through.
Serving Suggestions
These breakfast sliders are quite filling all on their own, but I like to serve them up with a side of home fries and a bulletproof coffee or a simple mango smoothie.
How to Make Breakfast Sliders Step by Step
Scramble the Eggs: Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a small baking sheet with nonstick spray or line with foil. Set aside. Scramble 10 large eggs over medium heat, adding salt and pepper to taste. Once scrambled to your liking, set aside. Cut the Rolls: Without separating the rolls, cut the entire 12-ounce package in half lengthwise. Place the bottom half on the baking sheet. Top with Cheese: Top with 6 slices of sharp cheddar cheese, covering the bottom section of rolls. Layer the Filling: Top with the scrambled eggs, then ½ pound of thinly sliced honey ham, and the other 6 slices of cheese. Cover the Sliders: Cover with the top layer of rolls. Mix the Topping: Mix together ¼ cup of melted salted butter, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, and 1 tablespoon of whole-grain Dijon mustard in a small bowl. Coat the Sliders: Pour over the tops of the rolls and brush to make sure the rolls are fully covered with the mixture. The more the better, trust me! Bake the Sliders: Bake for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and the tops of the rolls are golden and crisped.
