What’s in air fryer ranch chicken thighs?
Only 3 ingredients? Now that’s budget-friendly! For exact measurements, keep on scrolling down to the recipe card.
Chicken Thighs: I love using bone-in, skin-on thighs for this air fryer recipe. The way the skin crisps up is absolute perfection! Butter: It needs to be softened to room temperature. I recommend letting it sit out for about an hour prior to using. Ranch Seasoning: Just grab a packet of your favorite ranch seasoning! Any brand will work.
How to Store and Reheat
In an airtight container in the refrigerator, leftover ranch chicken thighs will stay fresh for up to 3 days. To reheat them, use the air fryer again, not the microwave! The air fryer will help the flavor and texture of the chicken thighs stay delicious.
How to Freeze
Let the cooked chicken thighs cool completely to room temperature prior to freezing in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
Notes and Tips
Trim the fat off of the chicken thighs prior to cooking if there’s a lot on them. If you don’t have any ranch seasoning, you can make your own! See the notes below for more details. Serve these thighs with ranch dipping sauce on the side for an extra ranchy treat.
How to Make Air Fryer Ranch Chicken Thighs Step by Step
Season the thighs: Pat all 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs dry with a paper towel and season them with salt and pepper to taste. Butter up the chicken: Combine 4 tbsp softened butter and 2 tsp ranch seasoning. Lift the skin off the top of the chicken thigh and stuff about 2 teaspoons of the butter mixture under the skin of each thigh. Then, use the remaining butter mixture to spread over the top of each chicken thigh. Place them in the air fryer: Lightly grease the air fryer basket with olive oil spray and add the chicken thighs, skin side up. Cook the chicken thighs: Cook at 400℉ until golden brown; about 14-16 minutes or until the chicken reaches 165℉ internally.
