What’s in air fryer buffalo wings?

You only need 4 ingredients to make the very best buffalo wings in the air fryer! Let’s take a look at that shopping list:

Chicken Wings: Drums and flats both work well here. Hot Sauce: Use whatever your favorite brand is! Butter: Unsalted is best since the hot sauce will already lend a good amount of sodium to the sauce. Brown Sugar: This helps to balance the spicy hot sauce.

What do you serve them with?

These wings are great to serve as an appetizer with some blue cheese or ranch dressing, along with the obligatory celery and carrot sticks. You can easily serve these up as part of a main too, alongside fries or a fresh salad.

How to Store and Reheat

Wings are always best served as soon as they are ready so that they are nice and juicy and don’t lose their crisp. If you do have leftovers they will keep for 3 days in the fridge and can be reheated in the air fryer.

Notes from the Test Kitchen

If preparing more than two pounds of wings, cook in batches. You technically can stack the chicken, but it will block the air in the fryer, so it won’t cook the wings properly. For extra crispy wings, add another minute or two on each side. I drained the sauce after tossing the chicken so we could dip the chicken in it. It is a very easy sauce with just three ingredients! I used a traditional hot sauce, but depending on taste, it can be switched for a hotter sauce, or milder sauce. The brown sugar adds just the right amount of sweetness to the wings!
